Each year millions of the world’s poorest die from preventable diseases, while lack of funding and other barriers stall research in preventing and curing diseases. Smart global health organizations are discovering that they can increase impact through strategic online communications. Forum One is a leader in online collaboration in the field of global health. We work with leading organizations to have a substantive impact on challenging health issues, drawing on our expertise in internet technology, communications strategy, health policy and international development. Online strategies and tools provide our clients with opportunities to make progress – in research, outreach, professional support, community-building and collaboration. Case Studies in Global HealthDisease Control Priorities Project: Forum One designed a web site to disseminate the second edition of Disease Control Priorities in Developing Countries (DCP2) and its companion publications for the World Bank, World Health Organization, National Institutes of Health and others, involving extensive audience research with global health policymakers. “Advance Market Commitments” for Vaccines: Forum One worked with the Center for Global Development and Owen Barder to create a communications plan centered on a blog to raise awareness among the G8 parties about the promise of “Advance Market Commitments” for Vaccines. When the commitment was made, Forum One worked with The GAVI Alliance to build a web site to educate policy makers and stakeholders about the commitment, how it will work, and its anticipated impact. Private Sector Partnerships for better health: Forum One manages online strategy, collaboration, outreach and dissemination for the USAID-funded PSP-One project for Abt Associates, the prime contrator. We actively manage community announcements, facilitate two-way dialogue and information sharing, and manage a set of internal project workspaces used by committees and subgroups on this large Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC). International AIDS Economics Network: For over 7 years, Forum One has continued to develop and manage the IAEN, an online professional network of over 12,000 economists, policy makers, and program implementers engaged in understand the economic impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Population and Health InfoShare. Forum One worked with the Population Reference Bureau to develop and manage a collaborative online library on population and health information, building a contributing community of more than 130 organizations and 1,700 documents (pictured top left).
