Online CollaborationWhat two things do commercial organizations like Motley Fool, Amazon.com and AOL have in common with public sector organizations like the World Bank and PBS? First, they care passionately about online collaboration, and strategies to strengthen interactivity with their key constituencies. Second, they attend the annual Online Community Summit, an invitation-only event organized by Forum One Communications each Fall in Sonoma, California. The Online Community Summit is a unique event, combining the smartest practitioners in online collaboration, no matter the sector from which they emanate. Last Fall had presentations by Microsoft Research and the Dean Campaign, Apple Computer and the SEIU (largest US trade union). Our friends at MEETUP debate with our friends at the American Academy of Pediatrics. Cisco chats with the Packard Foundation. The goal of the Online Community Summit is to gather the smartest folks we know so they can share direct and practical experience. The tools and tactics of online collaboration are rapidly changing. There is a lot we can learn from each other -- even from a Motley Fool. For more information on the Summit, contact Jim Cashel. |
