October 8, 2005
Forum One Communications today announced the conclusion of the fourth annual Online Community Summit, the leading gathering for senior managers involved with online group collaboration. The Summit, an invitation-only event held in Sonoma, California, drew leaders from industry, finance, consulting and academia for two days of discussions about trends and challenges in online collaboration.
"The web is quickly becoming more interactive," said Jim Cashel, Chairman of Forum One Communications. "We seek at the Summit to bring together thought leaders from various disciplines who ordinarily would not meet -- but who have a lot to share."
Among the 70 global participants were community leaders from Microsoft, AOL, Apple Computer, Yahoo, Salon, WebMD, Packard Foundation, Skoll Foundation and Omidyar Network. Discussions addressed key trends in online communities; management challenges; technology opportunities; and key trends in the online community space.
